We will work with industry, researchers and fire service leaders to ensure firefighter safety remains the central focus in the decision-making process. By identifying both emergency incident hazards and workplace hazards, to eliminate them or reduce the risk of exposure, injury or even death. The death of a Firefighter is devastating and places an emotional toll on Firefighters, there families and will significantly impact the organization. Injuries, illnesses, exposures and fatalities can be avoided through the implementation of effective safety and health programs that meet NFPA 1500 and Florida's Firefighter Safety Laws. The statement “If it is predicable it is preventable” is the constant theme in firefighter safety and we must continuously strive to make sure everyone goes home.
